GTI-Tuesday, March 10, 2026, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional (UPN) "Veteran" Jakarta, and Global Thinkers Institute (GTI) held an international seminar, "Diplomacy and War, US-Israel vs. Iran", online. Speakers included Wahid Supriyadi, Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (2008-2011) and Ambassador to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus (2016-2020), Dr. Tim Anderson, Director of the Center for Counter-Hegemonic Studies, Australia, Dr. Asep Kamaluddin, lecturer in International Relations, UPN-Jakarta and Muhammad Ma'ruf, Ph.D., Director, Global Thinkers Institute (GTI).
Wahid stated that the military aggression launched by Trump and Netanyahu against Iran is completely illegal. The future of the war lies technically and morally in Iran's hands. The costs incurred by the US and Israel are far greater than those incurred by Iran. Iran's Shahed-136 is estimated to cost only around US$20,000–35,000 (approximately Rp 337 million–Rp 591 million). This drone is relatively simple, yet effective for mass attacks. In contrast, a single interceptor missile from the US Patriot system can cost up to US$4 million (approximately Rp 67 billion).
Anderson estimates that the war launched by Trump and Netanyahu will result in a rapid decline in US hegemony. The practical impact will be the strengthening of global public support for the future of Palestine. The world is delighted that the perpetrators of the US-Israeli genocide have finally been punished militarily by Iran.
Iran is attacking not only Israel but also US proxies in the Middle East that protect Israel militarily and politically. US air superiority in the Middle East is rapidly collapsing.
Asep assesses that the digital era and technology in this war are also being used at the diplomatic and military levels by both sides. Digital formats installed through social media are being used equally by both sides. Digital is also used in cyber warfare, drones, missiles, and air defense.
Muhammad Ma'ruf considers diplomacy and war are one entity. War has elements of diplomacy, and diplomacy has elements of war. Operations "True Promise 1, 2, 3, and 4" are the names of phased military operations, a language of military diplomacy that conveys readiness, patience, tactics, strategy, and momentum. Missile names, such as Khorramshahr-4, Haj Qasim, Khaibar Shekan, and Fatah 2, Zolfaghar Basir, Sejjil, and cruise missiles Soumar, Paveh, and Abu Mahd, carry codes of wisdom and history.
Sequential waves of attacks and codes convey the maturity and philosophy of war. The successive waves of attacks until the end of the war are already concluded from the beginning. Attack codes, such as "Labbaik ya Khamenei," "Ya Mahdi," and Ali Ibn Abi Talib, are prayers tailored to the missile's name, speed, and target. All of these reflect the flavor of the attack, a knowledgeable and wise warrior. Ready for peace and war.
The Iranian supreme leader and nation demonstrate a philosophy of courtesy and respect for the enemy. They do not humiliate the enemy's defeat by dramatically destroying an aircraft carrier, which is a form of respect and an admonition to repent.
The Iranian war scenes are reminiscent of the film Kung Fu Hustle (2004), with the Buddha's Palm technique: Sing (played by Stephen Chow) masters the ultimate technique "Buddha's Palm" after being severely injured and having his chi flow opened.
